On the morning of March 31, 2026, the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko became a center of spiritual renewal as His Lordship, Bishop Michael Bibi, presided over the solemn Chrism Mass and Cathedraticum. The atmosphere was remarkably vibrant and prayerful, drawing a massive turnout of the faithful, including priests, religious, mothers, fathers, and youth from across the region. This significant diocesan celebration served as a powerful moment of unity between the Bishop and his clergy, providing a visible expression of the Church as one cohesive family.

A unique and heartwarming highlight of the event was the spirited presence of bike riders from the municipalities of Buea and Muyuka. These individuals gathered in great numbers to show their solidarity and support for their Chief Shepherd, adding a distinct sense of communal pride to the morning’s proceedings. Their participation underscored the deep connection between the local community and the leadership of the Diocese, further enriching the sense of togetherness that defined the day.

During the Pontifical Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Bibi performed the sacred rites of blessing the Oil of Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick. The most solemn moment occurred with the consecration of the Sacred Chrism, as these holy oils were prepared for use throughout the coming year in the administration of sacraments across all parishes. The Christians present watched in hushed reverence as the Bishop breathed upon the oils, a gesture symbolizing the invocation of the Holy Spirit for the sanctification of the people.

As the ceremony concluded, the sense of grace and mission was palpable, strengthening the bond between the Bishop and the Christians he serves.
