The Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, has called on members of the Catholic Women Association (CWA) to strengthen their faith and emulate the deep trust in God shown by the Blessed Virgin Mary.
He made the call today, November 22nd, 2025, during a homily at the Eucharistic Celebration that marked the conclusion of the CWA’s two-day annual meeting held at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Centre in Buea.

In his message, Bishop Bibi stressed the importance of unwavering belief in God, noting that a strong faith does not only help Christians attain eternal life but also serves as a source of inspiration for the salvation of others.

He reminded the mothers present that faith does not exempt believers from trials. “Even the Son of God, Jesus Christ, had His own challenges, carried our sins, and died on the cross,” he said. The Church, he added, teaches endurance in times of adversity, and “only those who persevere will inherit heaven.”
The Bishop concluded his homily by urging CWA members to consistently look up to the Blessed Virgin Mary, who lived according to God’s will and is honored by the Church for her faithful obedience.
The Holy Mass formed part of activities marking the end of the CWA’s annual meeting, which ran from November 21st to 22nd.

After the Eucharistic celebration, CWA members, through their Diocesan President Madame Enobi, expressed profound gratitude to the Bishop for his many achievements in the Diocese. They particularly thanked him for providing a befitting Diocesan Secretariat for the association at the basement of the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral. The mothers assured their Shepherd of their continued prayers for long life and good health.

In response, Bishop Bibi appreciated the sacrifices of the mothers, acknowledging that the progress recorded in the Diocese is largely due to their generosity and tireless commitment to the mission of the Church.
A key highlight of the post-Mass session was the installation of the newly appointed CWA Diocesan official, along with the recognition of the top three winners of the CWA quiz competition.

The CWA members later accompanied the Bishop on a guided tour of their ongoing Diocesan Hostel Project located around Mile 17, Buea — a project they say is an expression of their faith and dedication to serving the Church.
