Bishop Bibi Urges St. Michael Mission Station Christians to Embrace Humilit
Christians of St. Michael Mission Station Gardens have been urged to pursue humility in all their activities. This call was made by Chief Shepherd Michael Bibi during a Eucharistic celebration on the 31st of August, 2025. The Local Ordinary of the Diocese visited this mission station to pray with his flock, understanding their joys and challenges while seeking to foster the spiritual growth of the community.
Celebrating the Eucharist, the focus was on the theme of humility, encouraging parishioners to reflect on their own lives and relationships with others. In a world where pride and self-importance often overshadow interpersonal interactions, this theme serves as a poignant reminder of the values Jesus exemplified during His earthly ministry.

“Be humble. Pride comes before every fall,” his Lordship emphasized, reinforcing the importance of this message to the congregation.
Despite being God, Jesus humbled Himself throughout His public ministry. The Local Ordinary made it clear that every leader must adopt a servant’s role to bring about positive change within the community.
He referenced the Blessed Virgin Mary as a model of humility and encouraged the faithful to emulate her example. Citing the Catechism of the Catholic Church (paragraph 2559), the prelate reminded Christians that humility is the foundation of prayer, urging them to approach God with a humble heart.

Furthermore, he urged Christians to give freely without expecting any rewards in return, reinforcing the idea that true humility involves selflessness and compassion towards others.
The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Joel Ngollo of Our Lady Lourdes Parish, expressed gratitude to the Chief Shepherd for taking the time to pray and commune with the congregation. At the close of the Eucharistic celebration, Bishop Michael Bibi encouraged the Christian community to remain committed to the construction of the church building. He also pledged to elevate the mission station to the status of a parish once it meets the necessary standards.
