
Following his return from accompanying Pope Leo XIV, Bishop Michael Bibi of the Diocese of Buea resumed his apostolic duties with a pastoral visit to St. Joseph Parish in Tiko on April 19. He was greeted with a vibrant reception by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Stephen Bamisaye and a crowd of faithful who waved peace plants as symbols of hospitality and unity.

The pastoral visit which began with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the chief shepherd of the Diocese Bishop Michael Bibi, was an opportunity for the prelate to pray with his sheep, share in their joys and worries.During his homily at Saint Joseph Parish on April 19, 2026, Bishop Michael Bibi emphasized that the Resurrection serves as an enduring promise that Christ never abandons His people, providing renewed hope even in their darkest moments. Drawing from the Gospel of Luke, the Bishop reminded the congregation that the Risen Lord walks with them constantly, though His presence may not always be immediately recognized.He further exhorted the faithful to overcome spiritual ignorance by diligently studying and adhering to Sacred Scripture.

Addressing the 151 candidates who received the Sacrament of Confirmation, the Bishop challenged them to become relentless witnesses to their faith. He called upon these newly confirmed Christians to serve as “shining lights” in the world, embodying the teachings of Christ in their daily lives. The visit concluded as a powerful call to action, urging the entire community to deepen their commitment to the Church and their spiritual journey.
