In a significant stride toward modernizing the Church’s outreach, the Bishop of Buea paid a visit to the new Directorate of Communication building today, April 20, 2026.

This visit served as a formal assessment of the project’s steady advancement, specifically celebrating a major milestone: the building reaching the roofing stage. This three-story edifice, comprising a basement, a private chapel, administrative offices, and specialized studio rooms is meticulously designed to foster synergy and streamline the Diocese’s media operations.

By reaching this level of construction, the Diocese transitions into a new phase of realizing a strategic hub that will soon house the various arms of the communication apostolate. The envisioned center will act as the nerve center for media coordination, information management, and pastoral communication, all aimed at fortifying the Church’s core mission of evangelization. It stands as a physical manifestation of growth and a clear commitment to establishing a sophisticated infrastructure for the modern age.

While the attainment of the roofing level is a moment of triumph, a significant amount of work remains on the horizon. The project now moves into the detailed stages of interior installations, architectural finishing, and the final structural touches required to make the space fully operational.
