He encouraged the faithful to work towards meeting the necessary criteria, including constructing a suitable worship space, and a presbytery. The Bishop challenged the Parish Priest: Rev. Fr. BISHOP BIBI AND CWA OF SAINT THERESE MISSION STATION
In his homily, Bishop Bibi centered on the theme of salvation, highlighting that through Christ’s life, suffering, death, and resurrection, humanity was redeemed. Drawing from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1), he noted that God created us to know, love, and serve Him, which is the foundation for meriting salvation and inheriting the Kingdom of God. Bishop Bibi emphasized the importance of exercising our free will wisely, making choices that lead to eternal life, and urging Christians to be mindful of their decisions.
The Local Ordinary strongly condemned the prosperity gospel and its emphasis on an easy life, reminding the faithful that suffering is an inherent part of the Christian pilgrimage. Citing Saint Paul’s exhortation to strive for salvation with fear and trembling, he urged Christians to remain steadfast in prayer and faith.
Mr. Cornelius Ewoungua, the Mission Station Chairperson, and Rev. Fr. Victor Sylvanus warmly welcomed the Bishop, expressing heartfelt gratitude for his unwavering support and blessings to the mission. They acknowledged his dedication to the Christian community’s progress and pledged their commitment to collaborate with him in working towards elevating the mission station to parish status.
