The growth of the Christian community of St. Joseph Parish Tiko has been a concern as Christians thirst for a conducive accommodation to host their growing pastoral activities. The Local Ordinary of the Diocese of Buea His Lordship Michael Bibi on Thursday the 24th of October 2024, made a stop at the St Joseph Parish church in Tiko, where he visited the ongoing construction of a multipurpose Hall aimed at addressing the need of the faithful.
This eight-month-old project is a jewel to the parish as parishioners put in efforts to see to the realization of the project which at the moment, is at the roofing level.
The rafters of the roof have been completed and workers are actively present at the site to lay the zinc which is projected for completion within the next two weeks.
Appreciating the level of work done so far, the Parish pastoral Council Chair Mamy Nangah Elizabeth, thanked Bishop Michael Bibi for his encouragement and support towards the achievement of the hall, and extended appreciation to the faithful of this parish for their continuous contributions towards the building.
The parish priest Fr. Peter also saluted the chief shepherd for being a model to parish priests as he noted that this project is a motivation from the many construction works carried out by the Bishop within the Diocese including but not limited to the Pastoral Centre and the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral which was once considered a dying project.
