
Diocese of Buea Holds Finance Committee Meeting to Review Academic Year and Chart New Path
The Diocese of Buea today Friday July 10th 2026 convened its Finance Committee meeting at the Conference Hall of the Bishop’s House, Small Soppo.

The high-level meeting brought together the Proprietor of Catholic Colleges in the Diocese His Lordship Bishop Michael Bibi, principals and bursars of Catholic colleges, officials of the Diocesan Education Secretariat, and representatives of Regina Pacis Finance Bank (REPAFIN).

Key on the agenda was a comprehensive review of the just-ended academic year, an assessment of the financial standing of Catholic institutions, and strategies to improve service delivery to both the Diocese and the general public. Speaking at the meeting, Bishop Bibi emphasized the need for prudent financial management, innovation, and collaboration to strengthen Catholic education and ensure the institutions remain accessible and efficient.

The committee also deliberated on new strategies to reposition Catholic colleges to better meet current educational and economic realities. The session ended with resolutions aimed at enhancing accountability, resource mobilization, and service quality across all Catholic schools in the Diocese.
