
Cameroon Bishops Begin Five-Day Mission to Germany to Strengthen Pastoral Partnership
A delegation from the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (NECC), led by its President, His Grace Archbishop Andrew Nkea Fuanya, has begun a five-day working visit to Germany aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Church in Cameroon and its German partners.

The President is accompanied by the Vice President of the National Episcopal Conference, His Lordship Bishop Philippe Alain Mbarga, and His Lordship Bishop Michael Miabesue Bibi, President of the Social Communication Commission of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the delegation met with Mr. Christophe Huber of the Archdiocese of Cologne to discuss a partnership between the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon and the Archdiocese of Cologne. The proposed collaboration will focus primarily on pastoral initiatives and other areas of mutual interest aimed at strengthening the Church’s evangelizing mission.

During the meeting, the Cameroonian bishops also extended an invitation to Mr. Christophe Huber to visit the Bishops of Cameroon during their 2028 Annual Seminar in Bafia, further deepening the bonds of fraternity and ecclesial cooperation between the two local Churches.

As part of their itinerary, the delegation will also visit Aid to the Church in Need in Frankfurt, as well as missio and Misereor in Aachen, before concluding the visit on Friday in Berlin.
