The Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi, on Sunday, December 28th, 2025, celebrated Holy Mass at St. Mary Mission Station, Tole, together with Christians of the parish on the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
The Eucharistic celebration was marked by deep joy and thanksgiving as the faithful welcomed their Chief Shepherd in the spirit of Christmas. In a warm and fatherly expression that resonated with the congregation, the Bishop told the Christians, “I come for chop Christmas with wuna,” drawing smiles and applause.
In his homily, Bishop Bibi underscored the central role of parents in Christian life, stressing that children who respect and honor their parents receive lasting blessings. He reminded the faithful that the family is the “domestic church,” where faith and Christian values are first learned and lived.

The Bishop urged families to cultivate humility, forgiveness, patience, and love, especially during moments of disagreement. He encouraged family members to forgive one another, to love even when hurt, and to protect one another in times of difficulty and danger.
Drawing from the teachings of St. Paul, the Bishop referenced Colossians 3:12–15, which calls Christians to compassion, kindness, humility, patience, forgiveness, and love, and Ephesians 6:1–4, which exhorts children to obey their parents and parents to raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Families during renewing their marital vows
During the celebration of the Eucharist, more than a dozen married couples renewed their marital vows and received the Bishop’s blessing, a powerful sign of commitment, fidelity, and the sanctity of Christian marriage.
Bishop Bibi warned that pride, lack of forgiveness, and moral decay remain among the leading causes of family breakdown in contemporary society.

Extending the message beyond the home, the Bishop urged Christians to apply these same Gospel values within the Church, which is also a family. He reminded the faithful that while the journey to heaven is personal, it is also communal, requiring Christians to support one another on the path to eternal salvation.
The Bishop concluded by calling on the faithful to pray for families experiencing difficulties, asking God to restore peace, love, and unity in troubled homes. He also encouraged continued prayers for the Church, that her mission of proclaiming the Good News may be carried out faithfully and without hindrance.
