Rome, October 27, 2025 – Pilgrims of Hope from various dioceses across Cameroon gathered at the tomb and basilica of Saint Paul to pray for their dioceses, families, and for justice and peace in their country. Bishop of Obala, His Lordship Sosthène Léopold Bayemi, presided over the Eucharistic celebration and urged the pilgrims to deepen their relationship with God, emphasizing the importance of living according to the spirit rather than the flesh. He encouraged them to renew their entire being and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them, inviting them to open their hearts to Jesus’s transformative touch.

Basilica of St. John Lateran
Every pilgrimage is an opportunity for a closer relationship with God and serves as a spiritual exercise for conversion. On the third day of their national pilgrimage to Rome, the pilgrims began their journey by boarding a bus from Assisi to Rome, where they gathered at the basilica of Saint Paul outside the Walls for the Mass celebration.

Mass at St Paul outside the walls
Following the Mass, they visited several holy sites, including St. John Lateran, the cathedral of the Bishop of Rome, notable for having the largest baptistery. This cathedral is dedicated to St. John the Baptist and St. John the Evangelist
