“You should be people of great faith, steadfast in the service of the Lord.” This was the powerful message reiterated by Bishop Michael Bibi during his pastoral visit to St. Peter the Apostle Parish, Mudeka, on Saturday, 18th October 2025. Reflecting on the life of their patron, Saint Peter, the bishop encouraged the faithful to remain committed and relentless in their service to God, just as Saint Peter was a tireless worker in the vineyard of the Lord.
In his homily, the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese of Buea, Bishop Michael Bibi, reminded Christians that “the laborer deserves his wages” (Luke 10:7), emphasizing that there is indeed a reward in the service of Christ. He reassured the faithful that whomever God calls, He also equips for the mission. The bishop congratulated the community for their steadfastness amid ongoing challenges and reminded them of God’s abiding presence in their lives.
Drawing inspiration from the feast of the day, Saint Luke the Evangelist he urged Christians to be living witnesses of Christ, letting their lives serve as visible examples of faith and virtue in today’s world.

PEOPLE OF MUDEKA WELCOMING THE LORD BISHOP.
The pastoral visit was marked by a significant sacramental moment, as 53 Christians received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Through the laying on of hands and anointing with chrism, they were sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Bishop Bibi expressed heartfelt appreciation to Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Chrisantus Munu, and his Curate, Rev. Fr. Joe Tamfu, for their dedication in spiritually preparing the candidates and the parish for the celebration.
The pastoral visit was not only a moment of sacramental grace but also a spiritual awakening for the community.
