Bishop of Buea Urges Members of Apostolic groups to Embrace Holiness and Evangelizatio
Members of the Prayer and Action Groups in the Diocese of Buea have been urged to pursue holiness as they fulfill their responsibilities in various spheres of life.
While celebrating their efforts in evangelization, the Local Ordinary, Bishop Michael Bibi, called on members to act charitably, show love to one another, and utilize their talents for the Glory of God.
This call was made on Saturday, August 30th, 2025, as members gathered for a thanksgiving Mass at the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko-Buea, presided over by His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea.
During the Eucharistic celebration, the Bishop expressed gratitude for their involvement in fostering evangelization and promoting the growth of the Church in the Diocese of Buea. Referred to as the Apostolate, Bishop Michael Bibi stated in his homily that Christ is the source of every Apostolate.
Citing the Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 900 (CCC 900), he highlighted that without the work of the Apostolate, many individuals would not have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and know Christ. He explained that members of the Apostolate are called by God to bear witness to the Gospel of Christ. The Church recognizes the diversity of ministry and the unity in mission. It was noted that the laity find themselves on the front lines of the Church’s life and play an essential role in evangelization.
