
The Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, has received the Managing Director of Ecobank Cameroon and CEMAC Cluster Head, Mrs. Gwendoline Abunaw, during a courtesy visit at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Centre in Buea.

The visit took place on the sidelines of the ongoing historic Diocesan Synod of the Diocese of Buea, which has brought together clergy, religious, and lay faithful from across the Diocese to reflect on the future of the local Church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Mrs. Abunaw was accompanied by the South West Area Manager of Ecobank Cameroon, Mrs. Enongene Julie Brat, as well as other members of the bank’s management team.
The meeting marks the first official encounter between the Managing Director of Ecobank Cameroon and the Bishop of Buea since Mrs. Abunaw assumed leadership of the financial institution. It provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and to reaffirm the cordial relationship that has existed between Ecobank and the Diocese of Buea over the years.

Discussions focused on strengthening the longstanding partnership between the Diocese and Ecobank, particularly in areas that support the Church’s mission of evangelization, education, healthcare, social services, and community development. Both parties also explored possible avenues for future collaboration aimed at enhancing the impact of various diocesan initiatives for the benefit of the people owithin the Diocese of and beyond.
