The Catholic Men Association (CMA) of the Diocese of Buea, under the leadership of its President, Mr. Ngah Eric, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, carried out a significant outreach initiative aimed at improving learning conditions in selected Catholic primary schools within the Diocese.
As part of its commitment to supporting the pastoral and educational mission of the Church, the Association launched a bench donation exercise targeting schools facing acute seating shortages.

Pupils happy to receive their new benches
During the visit, the CMA delegation reached three institutions, namely CNPS Small Soppo, Catholic CNPS Wotutu, and CNPS Dibanda. A total of 75 benches were distributed, with each school receiving 25 benches. In addition to the benches, each institution also benefited from supplementary educational support materials including a teachers’ table, a chair, and a trashcan to enhance classroom organization and hygiene.

The gesture was warmly received by pupils, teachers, and school administrators, who expressed deep appreciation for the timely intervention. Head teachers of the beneficiary schools noted that the donation would go a long way in easing classroom congestion and improving the overall learning environment.
Speaking during the exercise, Mr. Ngah Eric reaffirmed the Association’s continued commitment to complementing the pastoral and social development efforts of the Church, in line with the vision of the Bishop of Buea.

This initiative aligns with the broader mission of the Diocese of Buea to promote holistic education and improve welfare conditions in Catholic schools, especially at the primary level where learning foundations are built.
The CMA reiterated that such interventions will continue as part of its ongoing support to the educational and pastoral priorities of the Diocese under the guidance of the Diocesan leadership and the shepherding of Michael Bibi.

Happy recipient
Further initiatives are expected in the coming months as the Association strengthens its role in supporting education, faith formation, and community development across the Diocese.
