Cameroon Bishops Conclude Strategic Germany Mission
The working visit of the delegation from the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (NECC) to Germany successfully concluded on Friday, July 3, 2026, with a final meeting in Berlin, marking the end of a productive mission aimed at strengthening partnerships with long-standing collaborators of the Church in Cameroon.

The delegation was led by the President of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon and Archbishop of Bamenda, His Grace Andrew Nkea Fuanya, accompanied by the President of the Episcopal Commission for Social Communications and Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi. The bishops held discussions chaired by Gesine Ames, Desk Officer for Political Advocacy with focus on Africa and Climate change, while Raoul Bagopha, Desk Officer for Central Africa and Madagascar; and Paul Beitzer, Partnership and Dialogue Officer for Cameroon and Chad at CET N’Djamena, were also in attendance.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the enduring collaboration between the Church in Cameroon and its German partners, while exploring new avenues for cooperation in pastoral ministry, sustainable development, social outreach, advocacy, and initiatives that promote human dignity and integral development.

The Berlin meeting brought to a close a week of fruitful engagements that took the Cameroonian bishops to several partner institutions across Germany. Throughout the mission, the delegation reaffirmed the National Episcopal Conference’s commitment to fostering stronger international partnerships in support of the Church’s evangelizing mission and its service to the people of Cameroon.
