Bishop Michael Bibi Presides Over Requiem Mass for Late Mama Veronica Ful Mbah
BUEA, July 22, 2026 – His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, presided over the Requiem Holy Mass for Late Mama Veronica Ful Mbah at the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko, Buea. The solemn Eucharistic celebration drew a large congregation of family members from near and far, friends, Priests, Religious, Catholic Women Association (CWA) members, and Christians from across the Diocese who gathered in great numbers to pray for the peaceful repose of her soul.

In his homily, Bishop Bibi reminded the faithful that human beings are merely pilgrims on earth. He exhorted Christians not to anchor their hopes in worldly desires or fleeting earthly wealth, but in Jesus Christ, who promises everlasting comfort in heaven.

Emphasizing the sanctity of human life, the prelate noted that God imparts life at conception and retains sole authority over it. Drawing from the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 1008), he highlighted how Christ’s Resurrection transformed death from a consequence of Adam’s disobedience into a gateway to eternal life, urging the assembly to maintain continuous spiritual readiness.

Concluding his reflection, Bishop Bibi called on all present to emulate Mama Veronica’s exemplary generosity, remembering her as a woman relentless in her charity and dedicated to supporting the Church’s mission. He urged the faithful to keep her in their continuous prayers, asking God to mercifully receive her soul into the heavenly Kingdom.
