Archbishop Andrew Nkea Closes 49th Annual Bishops’ Seminar in Kumba.
January 10, 2026 – In a heartfelt closing Mass of the 49th Annual Seminar of the Bishops of Cameroon, Archbishop Andrew Nkea,

President of the National Episcopal Conference, extended his heartfelt gratitude to His Grace Avelino Bettencourt, the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, fellow Bishops, and all Christians for their success of this significant gathering in Kumba.

Reflecting on the seminar’s theme of “Communion and Collegiality,” Archbishop Nkea emphasized the importance of fostering Episcopal unity and exploring ways to embody authentic pastoral leadership in a spirit of collaboration.

“In our journey together,” he stated, “we may not always find immediate solutions to every challenge, but we can always support one another with love and compassion.” Addressing the Christians of the Diocese of Kumba, he expressed profound appreciation for their selfless hospitality and unwavering commitment: “We may not have gold or silver to offer, but we assure you of our endless prayers. Your Diocese, blessed under the leadership of your chief shepherd, Agapitus Nfon, is a beacon of faith, hope, and love, characterized by unity and resilience.” Amid the ongoing socio-political crisis in the Anglophone Region, Archbishop Nkea conveyed a message of hope, reminding attendees that “God is the master of time, and with Him, all things are possible. Peace will prevail in Kumba and across Cameroon.”
