Christians welcoming their Chief shephered
This significant gathering took place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, coinciding perfectly with the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. The Bishop used the occasion to connect deeply with the faithful, offering spiritual guidance and encouraging the faithful to reflect on the importance of answering God’s call to the priesthood and religious life.

The visit also served as a joyous tribute to Bishop Bibi’s own journey, marking the 26th anniversary of his priestly ordination. Parishioners combined their prayers for future vocations with a celebration of the Bishop’s over two decades of dedicated service to the Church. Through shared fellowship and liturgy, the community expressed their collective gratitude for his leadership and invoked continued divine blessings upon his ongoing ministry as their Chief Shepherd.
In his Reflection this Fourth Sunday of Easter at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Gardens, Bishop Michael Bibi reminded the faithful that suffering and persecution are inherent aspects of the Christian journey. Rather than succumbing to despair, he encouraged the faithful to surrender their troubles and worries into the ever-waiting hands of Jesus Christ. By leaning on the Savior during times of trial, believers were invited to find the strength to endure, anchored by the promise of divine presence and comfort.

The Chief Shepherd further emphasized the vital role of Small Christian Communities as the foundational heartbeat of the Church. He noted that these grassroots gatherings serve as the primary spaces where the faithful identify themselves as followers of Christ, offering mutual encouragement and journeying together in faith. For Bishop Bibi, these communities were not merely administrative units but essential spiritual families where the Gospel is lived out in daily companionship and shared witness.
The celebration of the Eucharist also witnessed the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation to several Christians. This sacrament, which officially concluded their sacraments of Christian initiation and established them as full members of the Church, empowered them with the Holy Spirit. The sacrament it granted them the spiritual strength necessary to serve as relentless soldiers of Christ.
