Rev Father Martin Njie During catechesis
In his presentation, Fr. Njie invited the faithful to reflect on how Catholic prayers glorify God in relation to Truth rooted in Christ. He traced the biblical origins of the doxology and explained the profound reasons behind the Church’s tradition of concluding prayers with glorification, highlighting its theological significance and offering practical guidance on praying with reverence, understanding and devotion.

He noted that doxology in the Catholic faith is not an abstract concept, but a prayer that truly reveals the person and nature of Christ. By praying through the established doxologies of the Church, the faithful acknowledge and profess who Christ truly is.

Fr. Njie further explained that the prescribed doxology deepens one’s relationship with God, teaches that prayer is not merely about asking favours but about acknowledging who God truly is, seals prayers in Christ, strengthens Trinitarian faith, and transforms the moral and social life of believers.
Drawing from _Veritatis Splendor_ of Pope John Paul II, he emphasized that doxology identifies Christ as the light and center of the Catholic faith; therefore, all doxologies must be centered on Christ and serve as an authentic profession of faith in Him.
