
Buea, June 17th 2026 – The Buea Diocesan Synod entered its third day of deliberations at the Bishop Pius Awa Pastoral Center, with participants consolidating proposals from Tuesday’s plenary sessions into concrete resolutions.

The morning plenary session opened with a comprehensive review of recommendations, resolutions, and suggestions on pastoral life, youth ministry, family life, and the pastoral reintegration of Christians who had drifted from active practice. Delegates refined these proposals through contributions and discernment.

The session also featured a presentation by Sr. Clarisse Remjika of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Thérèse of the child Jesus of the Diocese of Buea, on the life and ministry of priests and consecrated persons in the Diocese of Buea.

Her presentation emphasized that consecrated persons must cultivate an intimate relationship with Christ as the foundation of their vocation, and outlined pathways for priests, consecrated men and women, and religious to complement one another more effectively in pastoral service and mission.

Following the presentation, deliberations continued with contributions from delegates, recommendations, and suggestions on strengthening fraternity, collaboration, and financial stewardship within the Diocese. The synod proceeded in an atmosphere of attentive listening as Day 3 moved closer to formulating implementable pastoral directives for the Diocese of Buea.
