The Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko stood as a vibrant center of spiritual and academic unity on May 15, 2026, as thousands of students from across the Diocese of Buea assembled for their annual Cathedraticum. This significant liturgical event began with a Pontifical Mass, presided over by the Chief Shepherd, His Lordship Michael Bibi. A primary highlight of the celebration was the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation, where students received the seal of the Holy Spirit, marking a definitive milestone in their faith journey and reinforcing their commitment to the mission of the Church.

“Dear students and teachers, you are reminded that your lives and campuses must visibly portray the gospel which you profess. You must be relentless soldiers of the faith you proclaim.” This message, was re-echoed by the Lord Bishop in his reflection, sending forth the students as messengers of christ and the faith they proclaim.
Quoting the Second Book of Corinthians, Bishop Bibi reminded the faithful that they are called to be cheerful givers, offering their support freely and without grudge, for their rewards shall be bountiful. The prelate expressed his deep appreciation for the faithfuls unwavering dedication to the pastoral works of the Bishop, particularly through their contributions to the Cathedraticum.

Addressing over 500 candidates for Confirmation, Bishop Bibi challenged them to remain relentless in their commitment to the Church and the faith they profess.

He noted that, haven received the fullness of the Holy Spirit, they are now called to live in the fear of the Lord. He prayed that their lives might serve as lights to the world and that Christ might be made visible through their witnessing and active faith.

Beyond the sacramental rites, the gathering emphasized the Cathedraticum collection, a pivotal tradition through which the youth and staff contributed directly to the pastoral and developmental mandates of the Bishop.
