“Welcome to a place of Saints and Scholars. It is a privilege to belong to this trusted and prestigious university where there is no room for mediocrity, laziness, or any misconduct. Open yourself to truly belong to this family of excellence. Be positively curious to learn and faithful to God,” urged Bishop Michael Bibi, Chief Shepherd of Buea and Chancellor of CUIB, during the opening Mass of the convocation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic year.

In his homily, Bishop Bibi emphasized the importance of serious academic commitment, encouraging students to fully utilize the facilities that CUIB offers. He challenged them not to idly waste their time, highlighting that both the certificate they earn and the knowledge they gain are of utmost importance.
Bishop Bibi further called on the teaching body and administrators to effectively play their roles to ensure that students receive the best education possible. “Put in your energy to ensure their success and be friendly while maintaining a professional relationship with the students. Treat them with love and care,” he stated.
