
Over 100 faithful from various dioceses across the country have gathered at the headquarters of the National Episcopal Conference in Yaounde in preparation to take off for a national pilgrimage to Rome, Italy, this October 24, 2025. Organized by the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (NECC), the pilgrimage will take place from October 24 to November 3, 2025.
During their time in Rome, pilgrims will engage in prayers and visit the city of Perugia, where they will pray at the shrines of Saint Rita da Cascia and Saint Francis of Assisi. They will also visit the Patriarchal Basilicas, pass through the Holy Doors, and attend a general audience with His Holiness, Pope Francis.

In addition to their visits to holy sites in Rome, the pilgrims will make a stop in Lanciano, where they will celebrate Mass at the site of the Miracle of the Eucharist. Notably, this journey to the Holy Land is being led by Bishops.
Speaking to the pilgrims before their departure Monsignor Paul NYAGA, Secretary General of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon called on pilgrims to maintain a spirit of Punctuality, discipline and respect for all as they take on this spiritual journey. The Bishops prayed and blessed their Christians during the gathering.
