On Thursday, August 14th, 2025, members of the Education Council of the Diocese of Buea convened at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center to assess the level of preparedness of the Catholic education body, for the forthcoming 2025-2026 academic year.
During the meeting, the Education Council identified insecurity and inadequate infrastructure in some schools as key factors contributing to low enrollment. This challenge has significantly impacted the educational sector within the diocese. To address this issue, the Council resolved to upgrade school infrastructure and implement an intensive door-to-door campaign to boost enrollment, a strategy expected to yield a substantial increase in student registration.
