Drawing to the close of the 2023/2024 academic year Bishop Michael Bibi; Chancellor and Proprietor of the Catholic University Institute of Buea met on Tuesday May 21st, 2024 with the Management body of CUIB to evaluate the state of the university and to come up with concrete recommendations for better running of the university in the days ahead.
Making emphasis on the Academic component which is the reason for the existence of CUIB, the Chancellor stated that Quality assurance and excellence must be the benchmark for CUIB. He reiterated the need for lecturers of the university to fulfill their responsibility of ensuring that students are adequately taught as expected and to safeguard a convivial atmosphere with the students as they pursue their studies.
Another area of focus was the hybrid system of the teaching processes which is a treasure for the university and which must not be compromised.
The President of CUIB Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu while speaking at the meeting reassured the Chancellor of their unending commitment to see into it that the students of CUIB entrusted to their care, are trained to become entrepreneurs with moral and spiritual values.
Concluding on the gathering, Bishop Michael Bibi thanked the President of CUIB Rev.Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu and his management team for the efforts they have been putting towards the success of the university. He called their attention to the changing dynamics in today’s world and urged them to incorporate better strategies to meet up with the current market demands. The proprietor invited the team to explore different opportunities to improve on the learning processes of the university.
