It was another exciting day for the students of Saint Pius X Comprehensive and Technical College ( SPICOTEC), Bota-Limbe as they welcomed for the first time one of their benefactors Dr. Apollinaris Mbah; an orthopedic specialist from the United States of America. Visiting this model college established for the development of hands-on skills, Dr. Apollinaris amazed by the student population and the vision of SPICOTEC, encouraged these future leaders to be determined in their studies and to hold firmly the virtues of humility throughout their academic and professional journey. “You will be Your own Boss” the benefactor told them, while challenging the students to take and own their destinies.
He reassured the students of his continuous support and that of other benefactors especially the husband of Late Mrs. Sandy in the United States of America, who has over the years made huge donations to support the Diocese of Buea and its projects including the construction of this college.
Visiting the college this 28th day of January 2024, it was an opportunity for , Bishop Michael Bibi, bishop of Buea and proprietor of all schools in the Diocese to extend words of appreciation to the benefactor; Dr. Apollinaris Mbah for his love shown to the diocese and for linking up the Diocese with the Husband of Late Mrs. Sandy who has been a fervent source of assistance to the diocese.
The proprietor encouraged the students to be focused in their studies so that they may become self-employed, creating jobs for others in the nearest future. He told the students that all is being put in place to ensure that their school structure is roofed by March 2024 and by the start of the academic year 2024/2025, construction works at SPICOTEC will be history and the students will live to enjoy the beauty of their campus. The prelate thanked the handmaid Reverend sisters for their dedication in the administration of the college. The words of assurance from the proprietor gladdened the hearts of the students who chanted songs of praise and thanks to their proprietor and benefactors for the love, and care showered on them and for the dormitories and classrooms put in place to facilitate learning.
Reverend Sister Vera Bi Otia; Principal of SPICOTEC, saluted the love and concern shown by the proprietor to SPICOTEC and expressed heartfelt thanks to the benefactors for their unceasing commitment in giving the college just the best.
SPICOTEC it should be noted, is a model commercial and technical college opened in 2021 by His Lordship Michael Bibi, for the professional training of students.
