Wednesday December 4th, 2024, the Proprietor of schools in the Diocese of Buea His Lordship Michael Bibi joined the education family of Saint Pius X Commercial and Technical College SPICOTEC in Bota Limbe, for a Eucharistic celebration in thanksgiving to God for all His deeds in the lives of students , administration, teachers, and the entire body of this institution.
The students with a bouquet paraded in color and excitement as they received their Bishop and Proprietor for the 2024/25 Inaugural Mass meant to officially open the new academic year 2024/25.
Celebrating the Eucharist, the Bishop called on students to remain docile and obedient to their teachers and to make use of the opportunities available to them to become fine entrepreneurs. He extended gratitude to the benefactor of SPICOTEC and the teachers for their endless contributions in building SPICOTEC.
He further rekindled the hopes of students and teachers, telling them that there is life after death and that Christ will come again. Bishop Michael Bibi encouraged them to pray always, trust God in all situations, and to share the little they have with others.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the proprietor moved over to the school’s campus, where he inaugurated the restrooms well-crafted to serve the growing student population .
He later had a guided tour to the different workshops where the students exhibited their handwork and explained the different processes involved in the realization of different projects
It is worthy to note that SPICOTEC runs departments, including but not limited to mechanics, welding, electricity, plumbing, and woodwork.
Saint Pius X Commercial and Technical College was instituted in 2020 by Bishop Michael Bibi and now boasts of close to 400 students undergoing practical training blended with morals.
Among other activities, the event was graced with color , choral, and traditional animations.
