Sunday May 26th, 2024, the Local Ordinary of the Diocese of Buea Bishop Michael Bibi joined Faithful of St Peter and Paul University Parish to commemorate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity; one that celebrates the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, the three Persons of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Prelate in his homily noted that the Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the source of all other Mysteries of Christian Faith. The Trinity reminds Christians of three distinct persons in one God who are related to each other and who do not work in isolation but in unity with one another. He challenged Christians to live in unity and togetherness despite their diversity.
During the Eucharistic celebration, some 29 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Bishop urged the newly confirmed and the entire Christian body to be witnesses of the Gospel message by their words and actions and to Proclaim the Good News always by words and actions.
Humbled with the presence of the Chief Shepherd on the occasion of his pastoral visit to Saints Peter and Paul University Parish, the chairperson of the parish pastoral council while welcoming the prelate, noted “You are an epitome of development”. The Christians acknowledged the transformations in the Diocese brought by the Chief Shepherd Michael Bibi.
The youthful community, of this Parish is focused on building a community of love the chairperson further highlighted in his remarks. He however, noted a few challenges, including the completion of their parish hall, and pleaded for the continuous support from the Bishop for the realization of this dream.
In response, Bishop Michael Bibi thanked the Christians for being part of the Eucharistic celebration and asked them not to relent in working together for the spiritual and substantial growth of the Diocese.
