On the First Sunday of Advent, November 30th, 2025, the faithful of Saint Andrew Parish, Muea Buea, came together in faith and celebration to mark the feast day of their patron, Saint Andrew. The day was highlighted by a solemn Holy Mass presided over by the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese of Buea, Bishop Michael Bibi, who served as the guest of honor.
The celebration served as a spiritual reminder of Saint Andrew’s steadfast faith and his immediate response to Christ’s call as the first apostle. His life of discipleship and devotion continues to inspire Christians to embrace their own call to holiness and evangelization.
In his homily, Bishop Bibi invited the faithful to emulate Saint Andrew by becoming pace-setters in their Christian journey. He encouraged them to be bold witnesses of Christ, shining forth as examples of love, justice, and mercy in a broken world. The bishop also linked the celebration to the beginning of Advent, calling it a season of preparation, reflection, and renewed commitment to Christ.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the second part of the feast day unfolded with colorful cultural presentations, including traditional dances by the parish youth. The joyous atmosphere continued as parishioners and guests shared a common meal, fostering unity, fellowship, and gratitude.
