Rev. Clement Ntongue has been ordained a priest of the Mill Hill Missionaries this 21st day of November 2024 at the Divine Mercy Co-Cathedral in Molyko-Buea. He was ordained by His Lordship Michael Bibi , Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, after answering present to the call of the Lord to serve His people and the Church.
The Ordination ceremony served as a reminder to Rev . Clement who now is referred to as Rev. Fr. Clement, on who a priest is. The Local Ordinary reminded him and others present at the ordination Mass that a priest, as described by Pope John Paul II, is a steward of the ministry of God and a servant Of Christ. He is a gift from God.
As a Mill Hill Missionary priest, Fr. Clement has accepted to live a life of poverty, chastity and obedience and to serve anywhere in response to God’s call. He will be carrying out his first assignment in Cambodia.
The Local Ordinary Michael Bibi while inviting the congregation to pray for a successful ministry of the newly ordained, challenged him to live his responsibility by the proclamation of the word in all situations. He further cautioned Fr. Clement and other priests present not to lose their identity as priests as the work of priests he says is experiencing a crisis of identity . The dressing code of priests should be respected the prelate noted.
Rev. Fr. Clement from this day onward will live to serve the church and its people with love and discipline as prescribed by the church.
The event was graced with joy by priests, family, friends , and Christians who joined in Thanksgiving to honor this event.
