Religious men and women within the Diocese of Buea, came together this 30th day of January 2025, to observe the2025 Pastoral and Economic Week of the diocese; one aimed at discussing and putting in place strategies for a fruitful year.
In the course of their meeting, these Religious reminded themselves of their mission to go out to the community, meet the people, listen and encourage them in their daily lives. This mission they noted must be carried out more effectively within the course of the year with the end goal to bring solace to many, and draw them closer to God.
Haven answered the call to serve, they were challenged to make it a responsibility to be more present and participate in whatever they are called to do in their various communities, apostolates, Small Christian communities, parishes, congregations and the Diocese. They were equally invited to enhance positive actions wherever they find themselves.
Speaking at the gathering which saw the presence of His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, the President of the association of religious in the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda, Buea Chapter; Rev. Fr. Gaston Muh, used the platform to render appreciation to Bishop Michael Bibi, who he says has always been a father to them.
To Chief Shepherd Michael Bibi, in response, saluted the contributions made by the Religious, in fostering evangelization in the Diocese of Buea. He called on them to continue using their gifts and talents in answering God’s call and that they should always be hopeful even when things don’t seem to be right. He further implored them not to be despaired and also presume that they can do everything by themselves because God he says always has His role to play.
The Diocesan Pastoral and Economic Week which is holding at the Bishop Pius Awa Memorial Pastoral Center, Molyko-Buea, will be concluded on January 31st, 2025
