The enlarged body of the Diocesan Pastoral Council of Buea, meeting this Thursday 29th February 2024,
among other issues reflected on the recent happenings in the Diocese and resolved as follows:
1) That, we members of the Diocesan Pastoral Council representing the People of God in the Diocese,
pledge our unwavering support to you, His Lordship Michael Bibi as Bishop of the Diocese of Buea.
2) We the members of the Diocesan Pastoral Council have realized with dismay, the incessant attacks on
your person and by extension on the Diocese on the social Media, perpetuated by some individuals or
groups, who take delight in sowing seeds of discord within the Diocese. We strongly condemn these
activities.
3) We appreciate your graceful leadership Your Lordship, that in spite of all the distractions on social
media, you have focused on the spiritual growth and the diverse developmental projects of the
Diocese, for that we are proud about the work you do.
4) \l/e the faithful express satisfaction with the mechanism put in place to control the resources through
transparency and accountability.
5) The visit of the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea His Exceilency jose Avelino
Bettencourt to the Diocese of Buea on Februarv. 20th. 2024 and on Februarv 2?”d,2024 in full
solidarity with you our Bishop was reassuring and very heartwarming to us the Christians.
6) We urge you tVly Lord, to continue your efforts in fostering nothing but peace, communion, active
participation of the people of God in the mission of evangelization and in the development of the
Diocese, in the words of the Nuncio I quote “you are a Development Bishop”. We will continue to
assist you in this development.
To conclude, the members of the enlarged Diocesan Pastoral Council resolutely pledge their support
to your selfless drive for the wellbeing of cur Diocese and will keep praying that, you may be
strengthened by God’s grace as you shepherd this local church. ln communion with the Priests,
Religious, and Christ Lay faithful we will continue to engage ourselves totally in whatever
responsibility you assign us.
