The Presbyterial Council is a council of priests, who assist the Bishop in the governance of the Diocese in a spirit of communion and synodality. According to the Code of Canon Law (Canon 495 §1), it is “a group of priests which, representing the presbyterate, is like a senate of the bishop and assists him in the governance of the diocese.” Its role is advisory, offering counsel on pastoral, administrative, and spiritual matters, while fostering unity between the bishop and his priests.
