In a spirit of reflection, renewal, and deeper communion with God, priests of the Diocese of Buea have embarked on a weeklong spiritual retreat at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Buea. The retreat, which runs from Sunday, November 23rd to Friday, November 28th, 2025, brings together 78 priests from across the diocese.

PRIEST DURING RETREAT SESSION
Centered on the theme “Priests, Mediators of God’s Love to a Wounded Humanity,” the retreat is a sacred time for prayer, introspection, and recommitment to priestly service. The priests are drawing strength from one another and seeking God’s guidance as they reflect on their unique calling to be instruments of healing, love, and hope in a broken world.
Leading the retreat is Rev. Fr. Michael Mbuwir, Retreat Director of the Diocese of Buea, who opened the session with a powerful reflection on the topic “The Wounded Pilgrim: Humanity Between Grace and Abandonment.” In his rerflection,, he reminded the clergy of the fragility and suffering of the human condition and called on his brother priests not to stumble in their journey of faith. He urged them to embrace their roles with renewed zeal, embodying a steadfast love for the Church and a tireless commitment to serve humanity.

REV FATHER MICHAEL MBUWIR
As the retreat unfolds, it promises to be a moment of spiritual reawakening, fraternity, and recommitment to the sacred duty of shepherding the faithful and bearing witness to Christ’s mercy in a wounded world.
