“Go into the world, my dear child. Do not be afraid I am with you, to protect you, in all that you do. ” This Chorus was used to salute the presence of the Local ordinary of the Diocese of Buea Bishop Michael Bibi as he visited the Christians of St. Patrick Parish Ngeme -Limbe within the context of His pastoral responsibility to meet and commune with his flock, understanding their joy and sharing in their pain but above all, to pray and encourage the Christians in their Christian life.
The pastoral visit this 25th day of February 2024, which coincided with the 3rd anniversary of canonical possession of the Diocese of Buea by His Lordship Michael Bibi, gave the prelate the opportunity to pray with his flock on this special day and encourage them in their Christian journey.
In the spirit of lent, the local ordinary called on the Christian community of St. Patrick Parish Ngeme, to persevere in times of trials and challenges for difficulty he stated, is part of Christian life.
Celebrating the Eucharist, Bishop Michael Bibi lauded the Christians for their continuous thirst to nourish their spirituality, which he said is evident in the massive turnout by Christians during a catechetical session held at the St. Patrick Parish Ngeme weeks ago. He encouraged the Christians to live true Christianity by surrendering themselves completely to the will of God with the belief that God responds to all requests according to His will.
To respond to God’s love for them, the Christians he noted should endeavor to act according to the ways of the Lord. He invited them to belong to small Christian communities for this he emphasized is the church in the neighborhood which provides a platform for the Christians to know each other better, share the word of God and commune with one another as one Christian family.
The two- days pastoral visit which commenced on Saturday February 24th also gave the congregation the latitude to chat concrete concerns with the Bishop and to commend him for the efforts put in building the diocese.
