
The health facilities of Buea Diocese, including Mount Mary Hospital, Regina Pacis Hospital in Mutengene, and Arch Dibanda, have received a significant upgrade with the addition of new medical equipment to better serve their patients. Donated by Novant Health Foundation America, the items include hospital beds, wheelchairs, mattresses, basic examination lights, monitoring machines, chairs, and crutches, among others. These items were officially received on October 10, 2025, from the Bishop’s House by the health team, led by Administrator of Mount Mary Hospital, Rev. Sister Juliette. This new equipment is expected to greatly enhance the quality and timeliness of health services provided to users.

In a conversation with Bishop Michael Bibi, who coordinated this assistance with the help of his priest, Fr. Peter Nouk, in the United States, he highlighted that the equipment donated by Novant Health Foundation is vital for the healthcare services of the Diocese. The Bishop expressed his gratitude to Mr. Carl Armato, CEO of Novant Health Foundation, for his generosity and for covering the shipping costs of the equipment to Cameroon, which aims to enhance health services in Buea.

The Bishop looks forward to strengthening this partnership and urged hospital users to handle the new equipment with care. He noted that some items will be provided to St. James Parish in Ikata, helping to offer medical check-ups in that area of the Diocese.

Sr. Juliet Nange, Administrator of Mount Mary Hospital, also expressed her gratitude to the benefactor for this generous gesture, assuring that the equipment will be utilized effectively for the benefit of the patients.
