Come April 26th, 2024, Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary (MSHR) shall celebrate 100 years of existence scheduled to take place in the archdiocese of Bamenda. In prelude to this centenary celebration of their foundation the sisters joined the Christians and other consecrated men and women at St Charles Lwanga Parish Molyko-Buea on the 17th of February 2024, to thank God for the blessings, guidance, and protection received throughout their 100 years of existence.

The Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Holy Rosary was founded in 1924 by Bishop Joseph Shanahan, then Vicar Apostolic of Southern Nigeria, as a missionary order to promote the evangelization of Nigeria through provision of Catholic education. It has spread its wings of service and currently exists in 13 different countries, including Cameroon.

Thanking God for the gift of the sisters to the church and for their services rendered in areas of health, education, and community life to cater for the less privileged, Bishop Michael Bibi, while officiating the Eucharistic celebration thanked God for the 100 years of the sisters and for specifically serving Cameroon for 68 years and still counting.

He invited the Christian community to keep praying for their ministry in the church and to generously support them in their fundraising aimed at constructing a regional home for the sisters to accommodate their rising population .

During the fundraising activity which took place after the celebration of Holy Mass, the Christian population mobilized funds to support the sisters in their endeavor.
