March 2nd, 2024, Over 2,000 Christians left the comfort of their homes and journeyed to the holy hill of Bojongo at the Queen of Angels parish on the occasion of the annual Lenten pilgrimage led by His Lordship Michael Bibi , Bishop of the Diocese of Buea.
Coming from the seven deaneries of the Diocese, priests, Religious and lay faithful, despite the heavy outpour, walked up the holy hill, praying the stations of the cross and the Rosary and thanking God for the blessings received.
Officiating the Lenten pilgrimage mass, His Lordship Michael Bibi called on the Christian population to leave behind the life of sinfulness and to journey with Christ in his suffering and death. He told his flock that sin disrupts the communion with God and for this reason, he called on them to make it a duty to observe the sacrament of confession and be repentant of their wrong doings.
He further challenged Christians to help their brothers and sisters to live holy lives by being a source of support so that they do not fall into sin.
The 40-day lenten period, which started on February 14, 2024, shall run till March 28th 2024.
