Members of formation teams at the parish, deanery, and diocesan levels met on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, within the framework of the Buea Diocesan Pastoral and Economic Week.
Held under the theme “Synodality,” the meeting brought together key stakeholders involved in formation across the Diocese. In his opening remarks, the Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi, among other things explained that synodality means dialogue among Christians, between Christians and priests, and with their bishops. He emphasized that synodality also calls on believers to use their different gifts in service of the Church and to work together in fulfilling the Church’s mission so that the Gospel may reach the ends of the earth.

He encouraged them to continue making sincere contributions toward building a stronger and more vibrant Diocese of Buea. Bishop Bibi concluded his remarks by invoking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, praying that the deliberations would be fruitful.
On her part, Rev. Sr. Otia Vera gave a brief presentation on the theme of the pastoral week, using simple daily life examples to illustrate how synodality is lived and practiced in everyday situations.
