February 15th 2024, the finance council of the Buea Diocese, met at the bishop’s house to review the 2023 financial statement and to look at the budget of the diocese for the year 2024.
The financial statement presented by the finance administrator of the diocese Mr. Anthony, recorded an increase in investment by more than two billion which the team commended is a sign of growth and expansion of diocesan services. These investments which span from the education sector, to health, and the banking sector of the diocese just to mention these few, are ideal for the improvement of the wellbeing of Christians and users of diocesan services.
Speaking at the meeting, the chair Bishop Michael Bibi called for genuine contributions from these financial experts who serve in an advisory capacity to the Bishop on the expert management of finances within the dioceses for a healthy financial life.
While Bishop Michael Bibi commended council members for their commitment in contributing their skills and expertise for the good of the diocese, he informed them of the importance of the activity as he noted that the diocese after the meeting, shall be putting down a financial report to Rome.
The 2024 budget on the other hand has been validated for implementation by the different parishes, institutions, schools and services of the diocese.
