
The mortal remains of Rev. Fr. Nicholas Happi, a priest of the Buea Diocese, was removed from the Mount Mary Hospital Mortuary in Buea and conveyed to the Regina Pacis Cathedral in Small Soppo on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

It was a somber day as the Local Ordinary, Michael Bibi, alongside priests, religious communities, family members, and lay faithful from the Diocese of Buea, gathered in large numbers to commence the funeral ceremonies for Fr. Happi, who passed away on March 27, 2025.

The congregation united in prayer for the peaceful repose of the late priest. After observing the Office of the Dead at Regina Pacis Cathedral, His Lordship Michael Bibi presided over the first Requiem Mass.

In his homily during the Requiem Mass, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu encouraged mourners to reflect on the love of God and to pray for the peaceful repose of Rev. Fr. Nicholas, who impacted many lives with love, smiles, and joy during his time on Earth. He referenced the suffering that Jesus endured on the road to Calvary, along with the faith of the Blessed Virgin Mary, emphasizing the essence of a priest as an extension of Christ’s love for humanity’s salvation. Fr. Anyanwu urged Christians to remain hopeful as they pray for the soul of Fr. Nicholas Happi.
