On Sunday, November 23rd, 2025, Christians of the Diocese of Buea gathered in communion to celebrate the Solemnity of Christ the King, a feast that proclaims Jesus Christ as King of Kings and affirms His sovereign reign over all creation.
In a Eucharistic celebration, which took place at the Regina Pacis Cathedral, Small Soppo, presided over by the Chief Shepherd of the Diocese, Bishop Michael Bibi, the prelate challenged the faithful to embody the Christlike virtues of servant leadership, love, faith, justice, and reconciliation. He urged Christians to reject hatred and manipulation, and to live in unity. Bishop Bibi also reminded the congregation that the Church is united in Christ each time the Eucharist is celebrated (CCC, paragraph 1130).

CHRISTIANS OF REGINA PACIS CATHEDRAL DURING HOLY MASS
Instituted in 1925 by Pope Pius XI, the Solemnity of Christ the King serves as a reminder of Christ’s supreme authority and eternal kingship.
Following the Holy Mass, parishes from across the diocese participated in a solemn procession with the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Buea, culminating in a grand adoration ceremony at Bongo Square. There, before the Blessed Sacrament, the faithful joined Bishop Bibi in prayer for divine intervention in the challenges facing the nation and the Church.

The event was not only a public expression of faith but also a call for the reign of Christ’s peace, justice, and love in the world,
