In preparation for the grand celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Diocese of Buea, scheduled for May 7th, 2025, the Christian faithful of Bota Deanery convened at St. Patrick Parish Ngeme on Saturday, September 7th, to give thanks to God for the gift of their diocese. The Pontifical Mass was presided over by His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of Buea, who was joined by Fr. Peter Namongo, Dean of Bota Deanery, along with other priests, to glorify God for the countless blessings bestowed on the Diocese over the years.
During his homily, Bishop Bibi reminded the congregation that all blessings come from God and urged them to maintain a spirit of gratitude for all they have received. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the priests for their tireless dedication and sacrifices in shepherding the faithful on their spiritual journeys. The Bishop also called upon the Christian community to offer continued support to the priests, whose contributions he described as invaluable to the spiritual and pastoral growth of the Diocese.
Furthermore, Bishop Bibi extended his gratitude to the Religious, Catechists, and lay Christians for their commitment to fostering evangelization within the Diocese. He also took the opportunity to remind everyone of the theme for the anniversary celebration: “Proclaim the Good News, I Am with You Always”, urging the faithful to be true witnesses of God’s word in their daily lives.
As the Diocese approaches this milestone anniversary, the gathering also served as a moment of prayer for the intercession of Our Lady, Queen of Peace, seeking her guidance and blessings as the Diocese of Buea marks 75 years of faith and evangelization.
