Mutengene, November 2, 2025 – About a thousand Christians from in and around Mutengene gathered joyfully at All Saints Parish, Mutengene, to celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints, a major feast of the Church dedicated to honoring all saints, both known and unknown. The Holy Mass was presided over by the Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi.
In his homily, Bishop Bibi reminded the faithful that holiness is not reserved for a few, but is a universal call extended to all believers. He emphasized that every Christian, regardless of background or past life, can become a saint through sincere repentance, faith, and a life guided by love and virtue.

“We do not pray for the saints since they are already in heaven,” the Bishop explained. “Rather, we seek their intercession to help us on our own journey to holiness. We too can become saints if we listen to our conscience and allow it to guide us in the light of God’s truth.”

The Bishop encouraged Christians to examine their conscience daily, asking themselves whether their lifestyle aligns with God’s purpose for their lives. He stressed that no sin is too great to be forgiven and no one too evil to be transformed, so long as one sincerely acknowledges their sins and seeks God’s mercy.

Bishop Bibi went on to explain the concept of particular judgment, which, according to Church teaching, occurs at the moment of an individual’s death. He outlined three possible outcomes of this judgment:
- Those who lived holy lives enter Heaven;
- Those with lesser sins are purified in Purgatory, aided by the prayers of the faithful on earth and the saints in heaven;
- And those who remain unrepentant are separated from God in Hell.
He concluded by urging the congregation to live in constant readiness for eternal life, following the example of the saints who have gone before us.
As the faithful joined in joyful hymns and prayers, the celebration served as a powerful reminder that sainthood is not a distant ideal but a calling for every baptized Christian to live in holiness, humility, and love.
