During the Papal Audience of Wednesday, May 8th 2024, Pilgrims of the Diocese of Buea prayed with the Holy Father Pope Francis, at St Peter’s Square as they concluded their spiritual journey in the eternal city of Rome.
While praying for the pilgrims, their Diocese, and their nation at large, Pope Francis invited the pilgrims to be hopeful and, in doing so, to exercise the virtue of patience.
Pope Francis further welcomed the pilgrims from the Diocese of Buea, who made this pilgrimage to Rome to honor the 75th anniversary of the creation of their Diocese.
After praying with them, pilgrims were opportuned to greet the Holy Father Pope Francis and received his papal blessings.
Following the Papal Audience was a mass celebrated at St. Peter’s Basilica, where the pilgrims concluded their faith journey in Rome.
The Buea Diocesan Pilgrimage to Rome is one organized by the Local ordinary Bishop Michael Bibi to thank God for the spiritual growth of the Church in the diocese of Buea and also for the infrastructural growth of the Diocese since it’s erection in 1950.
As this journey concludes in Rome, other activities will continue in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Diocese.
