Saturday, July 13th, 2024, faithful gathered at St. Martin De Porres Parish Bokwango to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Divine Mercy Radio Television of the Diocese of Buea. The Bishop of Buea and Proprietor of DMRTV His Lordship Michael Bibi while celebrating a thanksgiving mass in honor of this anniversary, thanked God for using the Communication department of the Diocese of Buea and for the activities of Divine Mercy Radio Television, in carrying out the works of evangelization in the Diocese and beyond.
The prelate expressed gratitude to all the workers of DMRTV for faithfully bringing the Gospel to all peoples through this media and also saluted the sacrifices and efforts made by all the hosts, panelists, priests, religious, and all who support the mission of DMRTV in sharing the light of hope .
Drawing from canon 747, Bishop Michael Bibi highlighted the obligation of the church to preach the Gospel to all people using different means including social communication for the propagation of the faith. He cautioned all Christ faithful especially those involved in the use of social communication in fostering the gospel, to be diligent in carrying out their activities and to safeguard the integrity and morals in spreading the word, ensuring that there is no ill effect on the life of the faithful .
He further Lauded the role of the communication department in the Diocese of Buea and the various communication arms, including Divine Mercy Radio Television, Cameroon Panorama, bookshop, and the printing press in supporting the works of evangelization.
The Bishop and Proprietor of DMRTV, His Lordship Michael Bibi, called on all not to relent their efforts in supporting DMRTV for this Television, he noted has come to stay.
The Chair of the Diocesan Pastoral Council Mr. James Vefonge, while addressing Christians during this event, noted that Catholics of the Diocese of Buea are proud to be counted among the numbers as far as the media landscape is concerned. He congratulated the courage and resilience of the Bishop in ensuring that DMRTV succeeds while reassuring the Bishop for the continuous support of the laity towards the growth of DMRTV
The Director of communication Rev. Fr. Solomon Lyonga on his part, thanked the Bishop for his support towards sustaining the different arms of communication in the Diocese of Buea and reassured him of their continuous commitment in the spread of the Gospel
On behalf of the staff, the Station manager mme Joyce Mbong thanked the Bishop, priests, religious and the entir Christian community for their countless surport towards the growth of DMRTV
