Bishop Bibi called on journalists and communicators to be bearers of hope, stressing the importance of fostering unity over division. He highlighted that the effective dissemination of the Gospel relies significantly on the utilization of social communication outlets.

The celebration took place on Sunday, June 1, 2025, as Catholic journalists and communicators from the Diocese of Buea gathered at Saint John of God Parish in Bonadikombo, Mile 4. This event marked the Solemnity of Our Lady Queen of Apostles, the patroness of Cameroon, coinciding with the 59th World Day of Communication. This year’s theme, “Share with Gentleness the Hope that is in Your Hearts,” underscores the critical role of communication in promoting understanding and peace within our communities.

The World Day of Communication serves as an important reminder of the power of communication to spread hope, truth, and compassion. Catholic communicators play a vital role in this mission, using their platforms to uplift and inspire others, reflecting the values of faith and love that are central to the Church’s message.
In 1991, the Bishops of Cameroon consecrated the nation to the Blessed Virgin Mary Queen of Apostles, with this Solemnity celebrated every seventh Sunday of Easter. In his address, Bishop Bibi encouraged Christians to take part in national pilgrimages to Mariemberg and urged them to pursue justice, reconciliation, and peace while continually seeking the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Following the Holy Mass was a meeting with journalists and Communicators to discuss this year’s theme of celebration.
