On December 27, 2025, the Diocese of Buea was filled with an uplifting atmosphere of gratitude and joy as Priests, Religious, executive members of Parish Pastoral Councils, and heads of services gathered at the Regina Pacis Cathedral in Small Soppo for the annual Thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration, officiated by His Lordship Michael Bibi, Bishop of Buea.
This year’s celebration exemplified a moment of thanksgiving for the countless blessings received throughout 2025. It also provided a pivotal opportunity for faithful to unite in prayer for their loved ones, the church, and themselves as they prepare for the new year, 2026.
A significant highlight of today’s Mass was its role in marking the official closure of the Year of Hope, a period dedicated to instilling optimism and resilience among the faithful.

The Bishop also took the opportunity to express gratitude for the successful celebrations of two significant milestones: the 75th anniversary of the Diocese of Buea and the 25th anniversary of his Priestly Ordination.
As the Eucharistic celebration concluded the Year of Hope, Bishop Bibi challenged attendees to remain resilient in their faith, highlighting the importance of perseverance as they move into the new year.
