
Diocese of Buea Celebrates 30 Years of Priestly Service of Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu
Buea, May 9, 2025 — Christians, clergy, religious, family, and friends from across the Diocese of Buea and beyond gathered today at St. Charles Lwanga Parish, Molyko–Buea, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu.

The solemn Thanksgiving Mass, which brought together over 500 worshippers, was presided over by the Archbishop of Bamenda, His Grace Andrew Nkea. He was joined by the Bishop of Buea, His Lordship Michael Bibi, and the Bishop of Kumbo, His Lordship George Nkuo, alongside more than 50 priests.
In his homily, Archbishop Nkea praised Fr. Bartholomew as a true servant of God who has lived a priesthood rooted in humility, dedication, and service to the Church. Reflecting on their four-decade-long spiritual friendship, the Archbishop highlighted Fr. Bartholomew’s tireless ministry across nearly all dioceses in the North West and South West regions—except Kumbo.

Speaking on behalf of the Anyanwu family, Dr. Jude Chilaka extended heartfelt gratitude to all the bishops, priests, and faithful who took time to celebrate with their brother. He thanked Fr. Bartholomew for being a spiritual father and guiding light to every member of their family, noting the various leadership roles he has played in the Church over the years.

In his own words, the jubilant celebrant, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, expressed deep appreciation to all who joined him, stating, “You all mean the world to me.”

Rev. Fr. Bartholomew was ordained a priest on April 20, 1995, by the late Bishop Pius Suh Awa of blessed memory. His priestly journey, marked by selfless service and unwavering faith, continues to inspire many in the Church today.
